These one hundred and forty four 5mm Jet Daisy Lochrosens are three dimensional beads with a center hole. One customer shared this with us: "I like to think of them as fat sequins and they are wonderful in bead embroidery."
Swarovski makes lochrosens which are flat backed mirrored beads. These beads are obviously nothing like those.
The color name and their classification, Lochrosen, comes directly from the parcels in which they're from. In fact, the labels actually read "Daisy Lochrosens". These are from the Czech Republic, have five petals and a single hole in the center of the little flower. We have seen lochrosens used on dresses, purses, jackets, t-shirts, lingerie, and pretty much any type of clothing. We've also seen them used in jewelry on earrings, necklaces and bracelets. They make quite a contrast to bali silver daisy spacers.
Word to the wise: our supplier explained that these beads were made as a large special order from an unknown customer of the manufacturers'. Something happened with the customer and the manufacturer never shipped them. What we're saying here is that these beads have a finite quantity.
Below is a “master photo” of the seventeen different colors.
All the beads in the pic are 5mm. The Crystal AB, Crystal Foiled, Crystal Lustered, Jet, and Jet Hematite are also available in 7mm.
