We are currently out of stock of these beads. If you are interested in buying some, send us an email and we'll see if we can get some more.
These glass nail head beads are translucent cobalt blue in color. They measure approximately 4.5mm and are round with a single hole. There are little facets on the top or dome of the nailhead and the bottom is flat.
These beads we have both strung and loose. Since the thread that they are strung on is fragile, some of the hanks didnít make it.
When we acquired all of the nailheads (also known as sew-ons), some had tags that read "Made in Czecho-Slovakia." Many of the nailheads were strung but are no longer so because the strings disintegrated due to age. We counted some of the hanks as the strings went poof so we know they were twelve strands with twenty four beads per strand (unless different counts are above). They were buried for years and are now first seeing the light of day in 80+ years. Some were still wrapped in their original paper.
For the beads where the strings are (mostly) intact, they are 12 strands at 8" long (or 24 strands at 4" long). Each 4" strand has between 20 - 25 beads.
For the beads that are loose, the total weight of the beads, without the bag, is approximately 40 grams. There are 500+ beads.
